SOO - Greater Ottawa would like to welcome Jason Hussak as our new Special Olympics Ontario District Developer.  Jason joins our team with a wealth of experience in both non-profit management and sport. For over 6 years, Jason led the Community Development initiatives for the Eastern Ontario region of The Arthritis Society, specializing in fundraising, event management, budgeting, volunteer management, and business development. Holding an MBA from the Telfer School of Management, as well as having graduated from the Sports Administration program at Laurentian University, Jason brings a strong strategic and analytical background to compliment a focus on developing partnerships.

He has also worked in a variety of roles in the sports world, including managing programs for Athletes CAN, the advocacy association representing Canada's amateur athletes, as well as being selected as one of 50 delegates for the 2006 Olympic Academy of Canada. This role also sees Jason making a return to the Special Olympics family, having worked as an intern with Special Olympics Canada, and is extremely excited to be joining the team and working to further develop the Ottawa region.

The Greater Ottawa community would also like to thank Stacey McKeown for her years of service as our District Developer.  Stacey will remain with the Special Olympics family as the District Developer for the other dozen communities in Eastern Ontario.
