Curling Match Challenge

posted 6 May 2014, 17:48 by Secretary Ottawa

Every year the Challenge Match pits teams from the law firm of Kelly Santini, the high tech firm Kinaxis and the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) against Special Olympics athletes from the City View Curling Club.

The curlers were led onto the ice to the sound of bagpipes courtesy of the OPS Pipe Band.   After one tour around the rinks, the games began.  Competitors played a fine game and after four ends, everyone went in for the traditional pizza and drinks and to socialize.  Each of the guest teams has a trophy and every year the trophy is awarded to the 3 winning teams and a small plaque is added to the trophy with the names of the winning team members.   This year, the names of City View athletes will be engraved on all 3 trophies but the challenge is on again for next year!  Who will win?!
